Clinton Free is a Professor at the UNSW Business School, and a Professorial Fellow of the Australian Graduate School of Management.  With an academic and professional background in law and accounting, his research focuses on fraud, management control systems and auditing.  Clinton has published extensively in top-tier journals including Contemporary Accounting ResearchAccounting, Organizations & Society and Journal of Business Ethics. He also currently sits on the editorial boards of a range of international journals.  Clinton has conducted a range of different research projects in the broad area of fraud.  This work has been based on direct interviews with fraud perpetrators in US Federal prisons, surveys involving fraud perpetrators, auditors and forensic accountants and case studies of individual frauds.  A recent interview-based article published by Professor Free in Contemporary Accounting Research was awarded the 2014 Best Manuscript Award by the Forensic and Investigative Accounting Section of the American Accounting Association.  Clinton received an ARC Future Fellowship in 2011 and he has presented his work to a wide range of practitioner audiences, and appeared on a variety of media outlets.
